Grizzette

Meaning behind her name: Staff thought she looked a lot like a grizzly bear because of the grizzled/highlighted fur that she has on her back and shoulders. Grizzette seemed like a fun name that would help us remember her by.
Born: Estimated 2011
Sex: Female
Color: Brown with blonde highlights throughout her back and shoulders.
Identifying markers: In addition to her blonde highlights, for most of the season, she has some beautiful, blonde speckling above her eyebrows and into her forehead.
One word or phrase to describe her: Gentle-natured
Favorite treat: Peanuts-in-the-shell
Where can you find her at the sanctuary? She often is seen hanging in the front woods of the sanctuary, which is a common place for mothers with cubs to be seen. She has two favorite ‘food sites’ that she often lounges on with her cubs. Both can be seen from the viewing platform so be sure to ask staff to point her out when you visit!
