Future Plans
The goal is to become a premier education facility that will draw families, students, and researchers to Minnesota to learn about the black bear, other wildlife, and the importance of habitat. Future planned activities include:
- Building shower, laundry and gathering area for our interns and volunteers. (Currently in progress) We are currently raising funds for this project. See our homepage to follow our progress!
- Adding camping sites for volunteers and work campers. (Currently in progress)
- Bringing electricity to the sanctuary
- Expansion of our educational program beyond the viewing opportunities at the Sanctuary, the outreach programs performed locally, and the website.
- Enhancing educational programming and interpretive displays for youth, adults and groups.
- Increasing wildlife viewing opportunities for the visiting public
- Educating schools and communities about black bears, wildlife habitat and conservation.
- Restoring, managing and monitoring ecological health and stability of sanctuary property.
- Purchase of more land near the sanctuary for habitat use by bears and other wildlife. This goal requires large sums of money to purchase this land. Please help us with your donation to help secure to the future of the sanctuary. We are a 501(c)3, therefore your donation is tax-deductible
